The Master cleanse has been around for ages; though the recent buzz surrounding it can be attributed to celebrities like Beyonce. It is believed that the talented singer goes on the cleanse to prepare herself for the tours.

What is the Master Cleanse and why should everyone be doing it?

The Master cleanse is the lemonade only diet.  It was developed by Stanley Burroughs who tried it and cured several ailments within a matter of days. What is even special about this is these ailments were deemed incurable and ‘inevitable chronic issues’ by conventional medicine. The reason why everyone should opt for the Master Cleanse is the fact that we lead very toxic lives and our food, air and water are loaded with toxins. Even our local tap water is chlorinated which, we believe is good for us, but is on the contrary quite bad.

Today the Master Cleanse is popular since it has helped people rid the years of undigested toxic food and given them better health without surgery or invasive remedies.

Benefits of Lemonade Diet

The Master Cleanse or the lemonade diet is not easy but those who follow it believe that it can detoxify and flush the body off years of toxins. It has helped many suffering from several diseases and is ideal for the following categories of people:

  2. Those who wish to rest their intestines and give their digestive system some rest
  3. Those who wish to rebuild body tissue.

Things to Note before doing the Master Cleanse

  • It is a restrictive diet though 100s of people have done it successfully.

Ingredients Needed

  1. Pure filtered water
  2. Organic Maple syrup that is free of formaldehyde
  3. Organic lemons
  4. Organic natural salt/sea salt or Himalayan rock salt
  5. Organic and pure pepper

You can also drink Herbal decaffeinated teas or laxative teas while on the diet. These optional ingredients are listed for people who are unable to control their hunger pangs while on the diet.

Controlling Hunger and food cravings while doing the Cleanse

Most people are unable to finish the  Master Cleanse because they need food and feel very hungry during the diet. However, ingredients like Hoodia Gordonii extracts can help ward off the hunger pangs. This extract is taken from cacti like plants and many people have seen excellent results with it. You must also drink tons of water; nearly the amount of water in ounces as much as you weigh. Thus, if you are 130 pounds, drink at least 130 ounces of water or more.

Recipe for the Master Cleanse

Mix 2 TBSP of Lemon juice with 10 oz. Cold or hot water and add 2 tbsp organic and genuine maple syrup. Also season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Drink this all through the day for at least 10 days.

Succeeding at the Master Cleanse/Lemonade only diet:

  • Throw out all food.
  • Prepare yourself mentally by keeping a journal and marking the calendar
  • Keep yourself occupied with low impact activities like spa, reading, movies etc to take the mind off food.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise
  • Keep yourself stress free
  • Avoid taking vitamins
